Good day all,

As the 2008 results secretary for the NEC League’s U16 competition I am contacting you to clarify the results reporting procedures for the U16 age-group. Firstly, it’s worth reviewing the League’s current rules concerning result reportage, as follows:

§  Rule: 20. RESULTS:

o       Notification of Results

a. For all matches including those postponed, abandoned or re-arranged, (subject to Rule 12,) THE HOME SIDE SHALL NOTIFY THE APPROPRIATE RESULT SECRETARY OF THE RESULT (including scores, number of wickets, overs bowled and any notable performances) BY NOON ON THE DAY FOLLOWING THE MATCH in the manner laid down by the Result Secretary. Failure to do this will incur a fine as detailed in Rule 26a.

b. The League will lay down the format of result sheets.

c. For all matches including those postponed, abandoned or re-arranged, (subject to Rule 12,) BOTH CLUBS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SENDING IN A RESULT SHEET TO THE APPROPRIATE RESULT SECRETARY TO ARRIVE NO LATER THAN 5 DAYS FOLLOWING THE DATE OF THE MATCH. Failure to do this will incur a fine as detailed in Rule 26b.

d. A result sheet e-mailed by noon the day following the match may at the discretion of the Result Secretary meets the requirement of both rules 20a and 20c.

As you will have seen from the above, 20 a,) this year’s procedure is established individually, by each age-group results secretary, who has been given the right by the League to decide the most appropriate and seamless method suitable for all parties, providing the deadlines are adhered to as set-out within the rules.  Given these guidelines I trust that the following results procedure meets with your approval:

1. THE HOME SIDE SHALL NOTIFY ME OF THE RESULT BY NOON ON THE DAY FOLLOWING THE MATCH via either a basic email message (including the scores, number of wickets, overs bowled and any notable performances) or via completion of the ‘on-line’, ‘Result Sheet,’that is available to download from our website: www.surreycoltscricket.co.uk  NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY!
2. Once I have been advised of the result as described above, no further action is needed by the home side. 
3. The away side must confirm the result within 5-days via a basic email message (including the scores, number of wickets, overs bowled and any notable performances) or via completion of the ‘on-line’, ‘Result Sheet,’ or via post by completion of a hard copy result sheet, again available to download from our website: www.surreycoltscricket.co.uk
4. BOTH CLUBS SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTIFYING ME VIA THE METHODS HIGHLIGHTED ABOVE.  Failure to do so will incur a fine as detailed in Rule 26. Completed hard copy ‘Result Sheets' should be sent to me by 1st Class Post, e-mail or by hand to arrive no later than 5-days following the scheduled match, including those postponed, abandoned or re-arranged.  Please forward to me at, 5 Burdon Park, CHEAM, Surrey, SM2 7PS.
